Editing + Before and After

If you look back in this blog,
years back (*cringe*),
you will find that editing is an evolution,
constantly changing to fill the creative soul…
but fill it with what?
I don’t know.
I have always, and still continue to find so many areas in my photography
that I want to improve on…
The closest my creative soul ever feels to being satisfied,
is when a client expresses how their soul was moved by my work.
So maybe it’s not even about me.
I don’t know.

I don’t sit here all day thinking about my creative soul feeling full or empty
true, I am right now,
but 90% of the time I am just happy to be on this incredible ride.
I never consciously planned this blessed life I am living,
that’s why there has to be a wise part of me, beyond my mind,
(aka the Soul or Creator) that knows what is best for my life,
more than I could ever imagine!

These paragraphs just morphed into something I didn’t plan….
I won’t delete it or revise it,
instead I will just trust that wise part of me (and everyone!)….
the part that knows better than my conscious mind.

Now back to the purpose of this post haha.
Most of the time,
I use editing to add the remaining 10% to an image, add warmth, contrast, etc.
(in Lightroom)

There are other times I use editing to complete the vision of the image:
Shooting the image is 50% of the process
and editing is the remaining 50%.
