My only sister, Faren, has been living in downtown Chicago for the past year and a half
attending the Art Institute of Chicago for a Masters in Art Therapy…..
and this weekend she is graduating!!!!!!!
Congratulations Faren!!!
THIS IS THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL YOU HAVE BEEN WISHING FOR!
Yesterday, my brother sent this image of Faren waiting for the subway
(on their way to a Joshua Radin concert. ooooo I’m jealous)
because she said I would appreciate her dress……
About a year ago, I found this checkered dress thrifting,
but it was an odd length that stopped at the calves.
So I bought it anyway and gave it to her to trim down and sew,
as she owns a sewing machine
and I do not.
This is the first time I am seeing the revamped dress
and I think it looks great!
(I gifted her with the black moccasins last Christmas…. yes, they are thrifted!)
I love this pattern because it makes a fantastic layering piece….
I could see myself wearing a leather vest and rocker shoes (whatever that means)
with the dress to make it less “teacher-ish.”
…..that is, if she ever returns the dress: )
