When Nora and Matt first told me they were renting a cabin on a lake for a week
and that their wedding was going to be natural and non-traditional,
I was soooo giddy with excitement!!
I ran around most of the day with bare feet,
picked raspberries in the rain as I was waiting for the bride’s arrival at the cabin,
and my car almost got stuck in mud after leaving the reception.
If that’s not the definition of an Upper Michigan wedding,
I don’t know what is:)

The day was spent in Republic, MI at Cedar Hurst Lodge.
Weather-wise, it was a weird day…
it rained off and on…even raining when the sun was out!?
Nevertheless, the rain held off for the outdoor ceremony and the portrait session.
That’s really all I could ever ask for on a wedding day!
We knew it would eventually stop raining,
but rain was a part of their wedding day,
so I think it only makes sense to take a few photos in the rain!!
I love how they turned out.
Their cute dog came out of the woods and said Hi:)
and now I’m obsessed with lily pads….
a wild thunderstorm was rolling in while we were wrapping up the portrait part:
I have been meeting the cutest dogs at my recent weddings!
Milk (local!) and Cookies!!!
The awesome mugs were gifts to the bridal party!
Raining while the sun is shining:
Boys being Boys,
yes they flipped and came crashing down on their heads,
only to get back up and swing again.
As I was leaving, we took a few cookie photos…..
they are so priceless, I’m so glad we took these!!!!
LOL
Big thanks to CamillaRain Photography for helping me out with this wedding,
I included a few of her images in this post.
