Experiencing Life

I recently rediscovered the following images I took in 2011.
As I have studied the images,
I realized there is something important to be said.

From being an observer at family/child sessions,
I know many parents wouldn’t allow their child near the path of a wave….
or even on the shoreline.
I believe the parents to this little girl understand their true role as parents….
it’s not to shield the child from every single situation with potential danger,
or to teach them what to fear in life,
it’s to open their eyes to this beautiful Earth,
to see, touch, smell, and FEEL life in and around us!

When a wave would hit her face, SHE LOVED IT.
She would squeal with Joy!!
To take her out of the water just because she was getting wet or the water was a little cold
would be denying her Joy.

The parents of this little girl are giving her the greatest gift a parent can bestow:

The Experience of Life!

As my amazing yoga teacher says:
It’s an EXQUISITE pleasure to be Human!

(Note: Of course the parents were standing nearby,
they did not plop their child down and walk away!
I edited their feet out of an image)
