“You know, it’s funny what’s happening to us.
Our lives have become digital.
Our friends now virtual and everything you could want to know is just a click away.
Experiencing the world through endless second hand information isnt enough.
If we want authenticity, we have to initiate it.”
-Travis Rice
I’m initiating it.
My “winter” officially starts this week,
as im leaving Houghton until spring!!
(ill be back for christmas)
While photography is my full time job,
it’s also a seasonal job as well.
My life rises to max-workload in the summer
with weddings, family, child, and senior sessions,
but in the winter,
i get to work on fun, personal art projects,
and perfect the art of photography by continuing to read and learn from website, blogs etc.
In the summer i wake up and go onto the computer,
and at night, shut the computer down and go to bed.
I dont believe electronics are the healthiest devices for our bodies,
so i am going to try to live away from the computer as much as possible this winter.
As i travel south,
first to Chicago, then to Boston,
i will be relying on my new film camera!! (and iPhone)
I am jumping for joy to be able to shoot
with the medium i love with all of my heart:)
I will also be shooting video a lot more
and posting it to this blog and my Facebook page
because the iPhone allows me to shoot “old school” video with new technology:):)
double smiley faces required on that one.
My brother took the following photos on a film camera,
he lives in Boston
and this is his little pooch, Salo:
I am finally dressing up for Halloween this year….
pictures to come!
oh boston.
you are beautiful, especially in the fall.
