not too long ago in 2009…

i spent the summer taking thousands of photos with my point-and-shoot camera
and editing them with Picnik.com.
That September,
I decided to upgrade to a DSLR camera
because i thought the better the camera, the more amazing the photos.
Wow was I wrong.
It is not the camera that makes great photos,
it is the user of the camera!!!
So obviously when i first received my $500 DSLR camera,
the photos were equally as bad or good as my point-and-shoot,
because they were both set on automatic mode!
It was only when i switched my DSLR camera to Manual Mode
that my photos began to take shape,
because I was telling the camera how I wanted my photos to look.
On my point-and-shoot, I have no say in the decision making process
because there is no Manual Mode.
This is why I suggest that if you are not willing to learn Manual Mode
on your $500+ DSLR camera,
save your money and spend $150 on a Canon Powershot
(or any point-and-shoot)!
Or if you are willing to learn Manual Mode on your DSLR,
take my Beginner Workshop class so i can personally teach you!
The next class will take place in May!
Also, past workshop attendees are welcome to sit in for a small fee
if they want a refresher.
The following photos were taken during the Summer of 2009
with the camera below.
This camera is pretty awesome if you want basic snapshots,
but if you want more control over your images,
i suggest upgrading to a DSLR.
i lovvvvved editing:)
