Part 1} my past

Years ago,
i was plagued by colds and sore throats for nearly
every single month.
Irritated that the natural remedies that normally work werent working,
i went to the doctor for the second time in my life.
I left even more irritated after he told me, “gargle salt water.”
Really?!?!
 all of your medical experience and schooling and thats what you have to say?!?!
I was sick and tired of being sick and tired,
but above all, i was angry i could not enjoy a healthy life.
That’s when i had enough.
I could not depend on anyone else to solve or cure my problems-
IT HAD TO BEGIN WITH ME.
So i began versing positive affirmations all day, every day.
In the shower, on the way to school,
eating supper,
and falling asleep.
After weeks of consistently telling myself, 
“I am healed, healthy, and whole,
I give my body permission to be well,
my immune system is strong,
Thank you God for this healthy body,”
i began to really, truly, and deeply BELIEVE i could live a healthy life!
Whereas before, 
if a month passed and i did not get sick,
I expected to fall ill!
Sickness had begun to become a pattern, the way of life,
so i expected sickness and almost accepted it.
It was only when i gave my body permission to be healthy 
i began to stay healthy every single month!

This year,
i had one cold in February
and one stomach ache in June.
No doctor visits 
and even no visits to my Mom who is a gifted healer.

My mother’s alternative health business began because i had health problems as a child
and the doctors couldnt tell her WHY.
They just wanted to put tubes in my ears
without figuring out WHY i was having ear problems in the first place!

My mom saw the disconnect of conventional doctors-
they treat the symptom instead of searching for the root of the problem-
discovering the WHY.

Personally, I credit the majority of my health
 to the changing of attitude and belief patterns.
Secondly, i credit my diet.
(I eat animal-free for spiritual/personal reasons,
and I eat organic and GMO-free for health reasons.)
Changing your diet is a gradual process.
It does not happen overnight!!

I began by learning about inflammation and immune responses in the body
triggered from food allergies, pesticides and environmental toxins.
Diseases, obesity, diabetes, and depression (to name a few) are all caused
by inflammation somewhere inside the body.

Most people gauge whether they are allergic or sensitive to a food/chemical
if the food/chemical affects them in an outward way,
like the presence of a rash or swelling of the tongue.
But the cancers and diseases we are afraid of,
occur INSIDE our bodies, where we cannot physically see.
So why do we assume that if we eat a food and it doesnt blatantly effect us
it will not harm our bodies?!

After learning and understanding how my body reacts
to processed, conventional junk foods,
i made the mature decision to take responsibility for my current
and future health.

are filling, tasty, and satisfying!!!
