engagement} courtney and andrew

phew.
the holidays are over,
now we can all settle back into our normal routine!
For me, that is having a blog post ready at 7am Monday through Friday.
I have slacked a little in the past 2 weeks
because i traveled home to Michigan for Christmas
and i know during the holidays,
family and friends take top priority, not computer browsing.
But while i was home, i was able to sneak in a few photography sessions.
I almost said No to this engagement session out of fear.
I was afraid the weather wouldnt cooperate.
i was afraid it would be so cold that their noses would be glowing red
and my fingers would be too frozen to click the shutter.
But of course the thing that scares you the most,
turns out to be the greatest experience ever.
Life just works that way.
Courtney and Andrew currently reside on the West coast,
but they spent the holidays in Houghton,
so through a mutual friend we were introduced and soon after,
i was hanging out with them taking their photos!
They both have spent their entire lives in the snow;
Andrew grew up alpine skiing in Michigan and Courtney in Seattle,
with their path’s crossing in Utah (of course while skiing).
They then attended college on the East coast,
alpine racing for their separate schools!
The weather was a moderate 30 degrees without snow or wind.
The locations were breathtaking:
a tiny log cabin, a calm Lake Superior lined with icy rocks,
and a snow covered train.
Seriously?!
And the couple!
Their outfits were from thrift stores!!!
If that doesnt scream Vienna Glenn i dont know what does!
They were so natural and fun in front of the camera,
i didnt have to direct them….
i swear they would read my thoughts and do exactly as it said.
Honestly.
It was one of the greatest sessions ever.
my favorite.
the beauty of winter light:)
