Michigan

I arrived in Upper Michigan last week to work,
but the entirety of my family lives here,
so it feels more like a vacation……..
BUT my mom has been in the midst of moving into a different house
so it definitely isn’t really the vacation I was hoping for!!! haha!
For a few days, it felt as if we were camping;
no food, no filtered water (god forbid I have to drink city water!),
very little blankets (didn’t know where they disappeared!),
NO INTERNET,
and I thought the showers weren’t working….
when in fact, they worked all along,
so I was shower-less for about 5 days.
(Sorry brides and grooms from last weekend, if you smelt something funky,
it was probably your photographer.)

Nonetheless I am thoroughly enjoying my time here in Michigan!
Tonight will be my first bonfire on Lake Superior of the summer: )

Photos from my iPhone:

Before my weddings last weekend in Marquette,
I relaxed with a large cup of coffee on Lake Superior….
(solitude is the very best way to start a wedding day)
I am so thankful for my new and refreshed perspective
of the Big Lake I grew up on after being in the desert for 8 months!

Gizmo (my mom’s dog) adjusting to his new home:

Going through some old papers, I found this beautiful letter from my grandma.
She is now suffering from Alzheimer’s, so it was really special to find this.

My rental car………………….
I already got pulled over…
But I guess my charm and wit won over the policewoman:
she threw her head back laughing about three times…
and did not give me a ticket : )

Coffee from my FAVORITE place: Cafe Rosetta

One and a half years old and Ridge is already obsessed with HOCKEY!
His parents were trying to encourage him to play with basketballs
because they have spent too many years in cold ice rinks with the 4 other boys,
but I guess the hockey gene is truly in his blood!!!!
(look at that belly!)

Ridge and Brielle:

The weather has been AMAZING!!!!
60’s for a few days (it was so fun to wear leggings and sweatshirts, I don’t get to in AZ!)
Today was in the 70’s, but the canal water is still very very cold,
but these Yooper’s weren’t afraid.
Ridge was sitting down in the water and dunking his hair!
