a stranger gave me his croissant?

Today I went to the cutest cafe ever!!!
For starters, it’s called the Penny Lane Coffeehouse
and it serves organic coffee (obviously that’s why i went).
Lightbulbs dangled from the ceiling,
art hung on the walls,
alongside poems written by children,
and the bright colored paint was slowly chipping off the antique chairs.
It all made me so happy.
It was the first time in my life i could say i gleefully looked at
lightbulbs and chairs and tables
and it made me happy haha!
Anyways, while i was sitting at a table with a friend,
sipping some very strong coffee,
a man in his 40’s or 50’s walked up to me
and placed his half-eaten sausage croissant in front of me,
exclaiming, “I dont like it,” then turned and slowly started walking away.
Startled, confused, and yelling WTF in my head,
I replied, “I don’t eat bread,”
so he turned back around a retrieved his croissant.
My friend and I were able to maintain a semi-neutral face
and act like it was totallllly normal that he just gave me his half-eaten sandwich,
until he walked out the door,
then our eyes bulged out of their sockets.
The part that I can’t understand is why this man decided to give me his half-eaten croissant.
This is what I have concluded so far:
A. The employees and customers are hippie-ish
so maybe he thought i was an employee?
But i was wearing jeans and my Waldo striped shirt,
that doesn’t scream hippie.
B. He thought i was a starving artist (or just starving).
C. He was making a pass at me (my mom’s guess).
I wasn’t wearing my wedding ring, whereas my friend was wearing her’s,
so maybe this incident was my punishment for not wearing it haha!
D. He doesn’t like to waste food by throwing it away
so he decided to give it away instead.
No matter the truth,
and although it’s extremely strange,
i guess its still an act of kindness from a stranger!
hahahahhaha
oh this one goes into the history books of memories.
